It’s only Wednesday and we already have news of two major bankruptcy filings taking place this week: Boy Scouts of America and Pier-1 Imports have each filed for bankruptcy protection. While controversy abounds with regards to the Boy Scouts of America filing, Pier-1 Imports unfortunately seems to be just another of several big-brand retailers that have already filed for bankruptcy protection this year amid a continually fluctuating consumer culture.
